Travel & Lodging

You can fly into  Telluride, Montrose (70miles away), or Cortez (80miles away). (There are other options -- e.g. Durango, Gunnison, Moab -- but they are even farther. It's a 7hr drive from Denver in good weather.) It's more expensive to fly into Telluride, but it's also easier and much cheaper to get to town. From Montrose and Cortez you can rent a car or take a taxi or a shuttle. All of these options are pretty expensive; some shuttle options are listed here.

The organizers strongly recommend that you book lodging in the town of Telluride as opposed to the Mountain Village. All workshop sessions will be held in town, and getting back and forth between town and the village can be complicated, especially in bad weather. Accommodation options are also cheaper and more diverse in town and everything is within walking distance (it takes about 15mins to walk between opposite ends). And for those of you interested in skiing, there are rental options and gondola access directly in town. No need to get to the village. You can browse a few hotel alternatives here.
